Our Story

Unsere Geschichte

If someone had told me a few years ago that I would start a cosmetics brand, I probably would have laughed.

It was never my plan.

I just wanted to understand what was happening to my hair.

I always had healthy, strong, and full hair. When I came to Germany, everything started to change. I found more and more hair in my brush, in the shower, and on my pillow. At first, I thought it was the stress of a new beginning, then I thought it was the change in routine. To solve my problems, I bought one product after another – including very well-known and expensive brands – convinced that one of them would be the solution.

But nothing changed.

Over time, I understood that the problem was much more complex. The water in Germany was much harder than in my home country, Colombia, my body was undergoing hormonal changes, and most of the products I found were not designed for the needs of my curly hair.

I remember exactly what question went through my mind:

"How is it possible that I can't find a product that really works for me?"

A memory that I had carried with me for years came to mind.

I had once heard of castor oil to strengthen hair.

I called my grandmother in Colombia.

She spoke quite naturally about castor, rosemary, flaxseed, and other care methods that had been passed down in our family from generation to generation. For her, it was everyday knowledge. For me, it was a return to a part of my history that had remained on the other side of the ocean.

I started to make special mixtures for myself.

I wasn't thinking of selling them.

I just wanted to get my hair back.

Little by little, something started to happen and change that I hadn't expected.

My hair stopped falling out.

It regained strength and started to grow.

My friends and family started asking me what I had changed.

My answer was very simple yet so difficult:

A return to natural hair care!

So I started to develop special natural products for different hair types, experimenting with different compositions and making them available to my friends and acquaintances to try.

Through the positive feedback and the changes they experienced, I understood that my hair problem was not just affecting me, but a multitude of women and men.

Many people around me wanted new products after a short time, and through word-of-mouth, more and more inquiries came in asking if I could help them with their hair problems.

There are many people looking for an alternative that truly cares for their hair – without having to choose between effectiveness, health, or respect for the environment.

The search for these alternatives became the most important project of my life.

Since then, we have not stopped researching, learning, and developing every formula with the same goal with which it all began: to design the products I would have wished to find when I needed them most.

Sanclemente Essentials arose from a very personal experience, but today it stands for something much bigger.

It stands for the conviction that traditional knowledge and research can go hand in hand.

That transparency is always worth more than promises.

That beautiful hair should never be achieved at the expense of human health or the environment.

And that nature is not a fad.

It is our origin.

And also our responsibility.

What does your hair type need most?
Although all hair needs nutrients, moisture, and structural care, they don't need them in the same proportion. Dry or very porous hair Usually needs more nutrients and moisture to regain softness, shine, and elasticity. Structural care can also help but is usually needed less frequently. Curly, afro, or wavy hair Due to its natural shape, it takes longer for sebum to reach the ends. Therefore, it often benefits from a routine with more nutrient supply, consistent moisturizing, and structural care only when the hair truly needs it. Fine or thin hair Needs lightweight products. Too many oils can reduce volume, which is why it usually appreciates balanced moisturizing and occasional structural treatments to maintain strength without weighing it down. Oily hair Oily hair also needs nutrients and moisture – but often in smaller quantities. The goal is not to omit this care but to choose lightweight formulas that respect the scalp's natural balance. Color-treated, bleached, or chemically processed hair Usually requires a more comprehensive routine. Moisture helps maintain elasticity, nutrients protect the hair fiber, and structural care becomes especially important to strengthen the hair after these processes. Healthy, untreated hair Needs all three pillars. The difference is that in most cases, a balanced and consistent routine is enough to keep it strong, shiny, and healthy. There is no universal routine. Your hair changes with the seasons, climate, age, and even stress. Learning to listen to it is the best way to give your hair exactly what it needs – without exaggeration or complications. When you know your hair's needs, you stop buying based on trends or ignorance and start choosing consciously and intentionally. This is true luxury: a simple, mindful, and truly effective routine.
